The Impact of Different Handwashing Techniques and Residual Bacterial Load on the Hands of Healthcare Workers
Authors: Grace Howard and Jo Moores
The purpose of this paper was to explore the impact of different handwashing techniques and how to most effectively reduce the residual bacterial load on the hands of healthcare workers. Within the paper, we discovered the effectiveness of hand sanitizer, handwashing with soap and water, and the combination of both methods. Using three different research studies, we were able to explore the connection between hand hygiene, bacterial loads, and the reduction of hospital-acquired infections.
